Is there anyway to add a line to the Win XP startup menu?

I have a lot of programs and I’d like to sort them into their own sections on my all programs list, is there any way to add a line to break up my list?

Like the line that appears when you press start and the menu is seperated with recent programs and pinned programs like internet/email/etc.

You can “drag ‘n drop” a shortcut into:
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Fist of all choose the Xp start menu from your taskbar properties & not the Classic Start Menu.
You can do the same by the following method:
Right Click on Taskbar & go to Properties.
Click on the Startmenu Tab Then choose Startmenu & click on Customize.
In that under the Programs Section there is an option which asks:
Number of Programs on Startmenu, give the value before this as 10. This should be sufficient. Now the 10 Programs which you use the most will be displayed over here & the other in the Programs section mentioned on the Startmenu.
    I hope I’ve helped you.
    All the best.

As far as I know, that seperator line in the Start menu seems to be hard coded.
In order to hack explorer.exe, you need a Windows resource editor, load up the explorer.exe file, extract and modify the menu resource, and finally write the modification back to the explorer.exe file.

The link below is an example of someone using the reshack.exe program (search around the internet for it) to modify the Start Menu:

    P.S.
You can also use folders (like I do) to separate your stuff. Right click the Start button and click on Explore. Go into the “Documents And Settings \ \ Start Menu ” folder and you can create additional folders and simply move the icons into the folders.
Not all of the icons will be there. Some of the icons will be in the “Documents And Settings / All Users / Start Menu” folder.
