HELP! Intermittent Internet connection problem on Server 2003 based network?

This is a tough problem. I’ve got a large network here using Server 2003 as both DNS and DHCP servers. It has been working fine for months. However, as of late we’ve been seeing only some client computer losing connection to the Internet. What’s weird is they still have valid IP’s and they still have connection to the server itself. Also they appear to be resolving DNS when I ping an address (like Yahoo) However, there is just no return traffic. All the packets get lost
Meanwhile, the server itself never seems to lose Internet. Now, some people may have made changes to the server config awhile back to put in an Internet censor device. However, they took it out and claim they didn’t change anything. Any ideas of where I could start debugging this problem? THanks!

hmmmm thats a tricky one seeing as most people who use yahoo answers dont know how to use or have servers….. first of can i just say get unix! (its soo much better and the whole server system runs faster if u compare unix against MS server 2003)
where a DHCP server failure would infact show loss of connection to the internet..
but that is obviously not your problem… what you could do is ask the nice people of whatever ISP you are with to help you…. (thats what u pay them for) you could ask them to unplug you and plug u bak in at the exchange or summin but thats just a wild answer…
its most likley a problem with server 2003…. therefore you could reinstall the whole OS, or disable and enable all connections to clients….
however it is most likley a problem with the DHCP server because a DNS server failure would still show that the cleints are connected to the inetrnet just that they cannot veiw other servers
i am certiannly not an expert on networking but i hoped i helped in the slightest ammount
