Any suggestions on how to fix this?
No, it is on the domain because my password is about to expire and it is prompting me to change it because it is going to go dead in the next 5 days.

Your Server OS?

Monday, September 21st, 2009

OK here it goes…I run Windows 2000 Server (With SP4) for my domain controller at home (yep…Im a big time computer Geek!)…at school and all that we run Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server for domain controllers (as well as one or two Old NT 4.0 servers out there for storage, which will probally be replaced soon)
My Infrastucture will most likely stay under Windows 2000 server until about 2010 or so, becuase 2000 is still an up to date server system (although in mainsream support), and It is very stable, etc

here’s my question: what do you use as your server OS? Windows Server 2003? Windows 2000 Server? WIndows NT? Novell? Linux?

The person didnt actually turn this on, it jus automatically happened. Which free email provider (other than Yahoo, hotmail and GMail) meets my requirements?

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I have one yahoo email account and hotmail account for receiving email from friends.

I also have one GMail account for use with online forums, contacting technical support from various companies, local bank account, and account registration with any organization.

Yahoo is always keep on delaying in deliver the email messages to my inbox. So, I plan to use my yahoo id only for yahoo services.

I also ever experience delay problem in receiving email message in my hotmail account from my friend. But, it is such a nightmare for me even only one time delay. So, I use hotmail for sending & receiving email only from people with hotmail domain, and Windows Live services.

I will not accept any reason for the delays.

I want to register an email account (other than Yahoo, hotmail and gmail) and the provider must meet my following requirements:
- Never have anyone complain about delay, or totally never delay.
- Allow me to create folder.
- Free
- unlimited storage

Any suggestion?
Email provider who provide at least 3GB storage are also accepted.
Sometimes in special situation (like emergency e.g.) I need to receive the email immediately.

I’m only a student studying in local university. My budget is very limited. Plus, I don’t have a credit/Debit card and will not opt for one before I graduate.

Access Denied Message to SubFolders and Files in a Shared Folder?

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

I have one domain user who gets an “Access Denied” message when he tries to access the subfolders and files for the shared folder called Finance. This is a new user I added in Active Directory today. He was given access to other Shared Folders and has no problem accessing those shared folders. This is a Windows Server 2003 domain and my domain user has Windows XP Professional.

I reset his password in Active Directory and had him create a new one, but this didn’t solve the problem. Can anyone help on this problem?
The Share Folder has Everyone listed for permissions and has the domain user listed under the Security tab with full permissions.
This problem is resolved. For some reason there was an issue on the files server for that specific share folder. I had to take ownership of the share folder and add the appropriate users in permissions. Thanks for your help.
