after several different tries to boot into different operating systems, without the dvd/cd being in the f drive. no good results. i have tried vista and xp and 98. i’ve tried to restore the mbr, and even bought a new 500gb hard drive, same message, windows boot error please insert system disk and press any key to continue, which it continues to repeat even when i do. the system goes onto the hard-drive and will load but not without having the system disk in drive f.

I have a NVIDIA Riva 64 TNT2 graphics (memory size is 32 MB) driver and a Windows 2000 PC. My problem is, I just cant see anything after the welcome screen. In other words, Windows 2000 was not able to complete its startup process…. and I think it has something to do with my graphics card…. Is’nt it?

It’s been a while that my windows logo key shortcuts are acting in a strange way.
i.e. Windows Logo + L working correctly and will lock my windows. but Windows Logo + D or Windows Logo + R does not work correctly.
I want to know if there is a way to solve this problem?
I’ve search in every search engines.
I’ve also know what the windows shortcuts is.

I just got a pc from my dad and it has illegal windows xp professional and I tried to install a copy of windows xp home I got from a friend (I have cd key) and when i was about 75% of the way done with installing xp home I got the blue screen of death, now when i choose to load pro I can’t access the control panel to reformat and I am not too computer smart, is there anything I can do to fix this or am I pretty much screwed?
also i forgot to mention I can’t even load home edition.
i have another problem, I am not able to boot from disc.
even tho i have changes settings in BIOS to boot from CD-ROM first.

My notebook shuts off when it’s run from the ac without the battery running windows xp mce 2005.

Here’s the weird part though when i changed the hard drive to a hard drive with Linux installed it worked fine with the ac only.

So then i tried formating that HD and installing windows and it shuts down about 3 minutes into it. i’m thinking CD error i try several original disks and it keeps shutting down. So i erase Linux using another notebook leave the disk clean and try to install it again and it keeps shuting down. I have no idea why because it runs fine with Linux.
Wow, you are exactly right. You really know your stuff Brian. It is a Toshiba, Satellite A65 designed for Xp but definitely not powerful. The battery gave out and I was trying to get out of buying a new battery and use it as a spare. Thank you!

i have a problem in running windows vista and the problem is that i have two accounts one is of administrator and other is my name account (normal user account which is like no access to change admin passwords) and admin does not have password… i can access it but how can i go there….

so hw can i switch to admin account…. while in WinXp we do Ctrl+Alt+Del twice so tht we switch

wut abt Vista?

my friend just bought a windows vista laptop a couple days ago
but when she wants to connect to wireless internet, it just shows a command to ask her to enter “username, password, and logon domain”. but she does not know what those three things are. are those the WEP wireless password or something?

I know there is a glitch with Microsoft and they do not have a patch to fix this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

More problems with Windows movie maker. i’m trying to import a song 3:54 in length. after importing, movie maker suddenly makes the song 6:45. i listened to the song to find why it somehow got 3 min longer, and i found that, while playing the file, it suddenly goes back to a point earlier in the song. what’s happening
