Does the stress from working as an air traffic controller really shorten your lifespan?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I am planning on joining the air force and I am trying to choose between air traffic control and security forces. With security forces I don’t have many civilian career options. Basically a police officer, but they barely get paid for the work they do. I know controllers get paid pretty well for what they do, but i’ve heard that it can be such a stressful job that people commit suicide, become addicted to alcohol, and MOST importantly: have a shorter lifespan. Is this true? (esp the last part)

Simultaneous remote desktop users for Windows XP Pro SP3?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

I know that the user agreement with Microsoft states that you cannot have multiple users signed in at once. Are there any workarounds (legal or illegal, I don’t care)? I don’t particularly want to go down the route of using Windows Server 2003…

Icons on desktop disappear this happened only after I tried installing a 2nd dvd rw to my open drive location?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Replaced my original dvd rw drive and then added a 2nd one to the open position in the tower. Once I started up the computer it asked me to continue or set up so I hit continue. The desktop loaded but the search is on going for a drive and then after a few minutes the start up menu and desktop disappear. I am also running Vista.

Win XP Backup — How do I view current backup schedule?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

I am working in an office where the company is backing up files daily from various machines in a small network..

It is listed as the “F:” and it is currently scheduled to auto back-up the files on two of the machines in this 5 workstation network each day..

What I am trying to do is access a list of the files that are being backed up — It shows me the two machines as a folder that are being backed up, but not a full list of what files are being backed up.

This is probably a silly one, but can someone help me? Where do I go to get a list of the files being backed up? Also — How do I modify the list to add/remove which files get backed up??

PuA.HackTool.PotentialBotComponent?

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

I scan my comp. and get this
PuA.HackTool.PotentialBotComponent
c:\windows\system32\whoiscl.exe

But on the internet I find this:
Description
WhoisCL is a simple command-line utility that allows you to easily get information about a registered domain. It automatically connect to the right WHOIS server, according to the top-level domain name, and retrieve the WHOIS record of the domain.
It supports both generic domains and country code domains.

System Requirements
Windows operating system: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003.
Internet connection.
On a firewall, you should allow outgoing connections to port 43

I am a little confused
thank you in advance
